MEDICAL HYPNOSIS
Do you want to discover how to heal your hurts?
Hypnosis was first identified as an effective therapy for many conditions in the late 18th century by a physician named Frederick Anton Mesmer. Many people were amazed by the miraculous healings they experienced.
It was as though they found the "Fountain of Youth". However, many of the exaggerated claims for hypnosis that Mesmer referred to as "animal magnetism", and his sensational approach, made it difficult for people to accept hypnosis as a true healing modality.
People scorned at the thought of hypnosis, and claimed it was magical mind games. Yes, it had to do with control of the mind, but rather than being out of control and making people do things against their will, like to quack like a duck, or the sinister Svengali Effect or being controlled like in The Manchurian Candidate, hypnosis proved to be an effective modality that enabled people to make desired changes.
In 1958 the American Medical Association and the British Medical Association, realized the benefits of hypnosis and hypnotherapy and endorsed them as a valid treatment and healing modality and approved hypnosis as a viable therapeutic tool.
Although hypnosis was not wholeheartedly accepted by the medical community in the past, more and more doctors, psychologists, dentists and other medical practitioners and researchers are coming to appreciate the value of hypnosis in helping provide improved health and symptom relief.
The hypnotist/hypnotherapist does not heal. He merely guides the patient to achieve desired results. Hypnosis and hypnotherapy are considered to be complementary therapies to medical treatment. The hypnotist receives medical referrals from the physician prior to working with his patient and continues to communicate and update the doctor and other members of their medical team regarding progress.
"The cure of the part should not be attempted without treatment of the whole, and also no attempts should be made to cure the body without the soul, therefore if the head and the body are to be well, you must begin by curing the mind. That is the first thing. For this is the great error of our day in the treatment of the human body, that physicians separate the soul from the body."
